Palaruvi is a waterfall near Aryankavu at a height of 300 m. It is located in the Kollam district. The word meaning of Palaruvi is the stream of milk. The water gets collected as a small pool at the bottom and the tourists can take a dip in that pool. To reach this pool one has to walk through the woods. It is covered by forests, hills and valleys. The best time to visit this place is after the summer season.
The main activity of the tourists is trekking. The Palaruvi trekking which covers 5 km from the bottom to top and then back takes around 3 hours. There is another trekking called the Kurishumala Trekking which covers 8 km that involves going to the top, then walking through the streams, caves, forests etc. The habitat of Chenkurinji ca be viewed and at the same time the tourists can take a glimpse of the Tamil Nadu state.
There is a nearby temple here called as the Aryankavu Shastha Temple. It is here that the famous festival of Lord Ayyappa’s Thirukalyanam is celebrated. Another place of interest to visit is the Courtallam Falls.

Palaruvi is located in the Kollam district in the Kollam Shencottai road. The nearest airport is at Thiruvananthapuram which is at a distance of 95 km. The nearest railway station is at Kollam and the roads are connected from Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram and Shencottai.
