Meenkunnu Beach which is an extension of Payyambalam beach, is situated in Azhikode village in Kannur district. The word ‘Meenkunnu’ is composed of two Malayalam words ‘Meen’ which means fish and ‘kunnu’ which means a small hill. It is a beautiful and peaceful beach with golden sand. It is a small beach and is so not crowded by the tourists.
